Dr. Prashant Acharya

Founder & Secretary, Fetal Brain Society

Ahmedabad, India

When we first envisioned the Fetal Brain Society, it was with a deep sense of purpose—to bring together people who are passionate about understanding and protecting the most delicate and complex organ of all: the developing brain.

As a fetal medicine specialist, I’ve often seen how early insights—gained through advanced imaging, genetics, and collaboration—can change the trajectory of a child’s life. But I’ve also seen the challenges: fragmented knowledge, lack of access, and limited platforms for dialogue between disciplines.

That’s why we created the Fetal Brain Society—not just as an academic group, but as a global community. Today, with over 6,000 members worldwide, we are a thriving network of clinicians, scientists, educators, and innovators united by a single goal: to give every fetal brain the best possible start.

Our Vision

To make fetal brain evaluation a core pillar of prenatal care—guided by science, driven by compassion, and shaped by collaboration.

Our Mission

• To share the latest knowledge in fetal brain imaging and neuroscience with anyone who seeks to learn.
• To connect experts across fields and continents, breaking silos to foster meaningful collaboration.
• To support clinicians with practical tools, training, and global mentorship.
• To ensure that research translates into real-world impact—for families, for clinicians, and most of all, for babies.

This society is close to my heart because it reflects a belief I hold deeply: that early care is lifelong care. Together with our incredible team—led by Dr. Gustavo Malinger and supported by some of the brightest minds in the world—we are building something that I believe will shape the future of prenatal and pediatric neuroscience.

Whether you’re a seasoned expert or just beginning your journey in this field, there’s a place for you in the Fetal Brain Society. We welcome you with open arms and open minds.

Warm Regards,
Dr. Prashant Acharya
